WDM Recognized for article

WDM Publisher, Joe Porter was recognized at the April, 2011 annual meeting of the Lumpkin County Historical Society in Dahlonega, Georgia in appreciation for making a “significant contribution to preserving the history and heritage of Lumpkin County during the previous year.” Joe was made aware of a unique diving bell in Dahlonega used for gold mining during the 1800’s, and recognized the bell as a one-of-a-kind artifact of diving history.  He published an article in Wreck Diving Magazine’s Issue 20.  The bell has since been restored to its original condition and will be permanently displayed for the public to see in a park in historic Dahlonega.
